Richard Quinn reaffirmed his commitment to extravagant eveningwear with his Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection, presenting a lineup of 42 statement gowns that celebrated couture-inspired silhouettes, elaborate embellishments and occasion dressing.

The London-based designer has built his business around formalwear, transforming his runway shows into social occasions where clients arrive dressed in his creations. His presentations have become distinctive fixtures on the London fashion calendar, bringing together customers who wear his designs for weddings, celebrations and other special events.

“I think to have the staying-power of building a brand, you have to be really saturated with what you do,” Quinn said backstage. He added that many of his customers are based in London, making the shows an opportunity for them to gather and enjoy the experience together.

At 35, Quinn has established a loyal international clientele by focusing on wedding and event dressing while maintaining a clear, recognizable design identity.

Couture-Inspired Gowns Take Center Stage

Presented on a mirrored runway beneath chandeliers, the Spring 2027 collection offered a range of interpretations of Quinn’s signature aesthetic rather than a dramatic departure from it.

His designs combined couture-inspired shapes with intricate embroidery, ostrich-feather trims and refined proportions intended to make elaborate eveningwear more wearable.

Quinn’s approach has drawn comparisons to Lebanese designer Elie Saab, particularly in its emphasis on polished glamour and richly embellished formal gowns. His own creative operations are based in Peckham, south London, where he maintains his atelier, couture salon and fabric-printing business.

The collection continued his focus on dramatic occasionwear, with silhouettes designed for clients seeking statement-making looks for major events.

“It’s all about that hyper-glamour, kind of like the ’80s,” Quinn said, describing the inspiration behind the lineup.

Supermodel Helena Christensen closed the show, bringing the presentation to a fittingly glamorous conclusion.

Building a Business Beyond the Runway

Although the runway remains central to Quinn’s brand identity, the designer is also using his collections to support the growth of his wider retail business.

He described the show as an important promotional platform for the label’s online operations, which offer a ready-to-wear line alongside its more elaborate occasionwear.

“We have a really beautiful ready-to-wear line that’s now online on our website, and a shop within Liberty which is working very nicely for us too,” he said.

The presence of the collection across different retail channels reflects Quinn’s efforts to reach customers beyond the runway and couture salon, while maintaining the glamour that has become synonymous with his label.

For Spring 2027, the designer stayed firmly within his established territory, delivering a collection centered on ornate evening dresses, polished couture details and unapologetic glamour. Rather than reinventing his aesthetic, Quinn continued to refine it while strengthening the commercial foundations of his growing fashion business.
