Zara is pushing further into the luxury fashion space with its latest high-profile collaboration with legendary British designer John Galliano. The Inditex-owned brand unveiled the first chapter of the partnership during Paris Fashion Week, marking one of its most ambitious moves toward a more premium identity.

Titled “Re{form},” the collection combines Zara’s extensive archives with Galliano’s couture expertise and features campaign imagery shot by renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel. The debut release includes 35 looks, each presented with French-inspired titles and detailed notes explaining the creative process, materials, and inspiration behind the designs.

The collaboration focuses on reimagining Zara’s historical pieces rather than creating entirely new designs. According to the brand, Galliano treated archive garments as prototypes, cutting, dismantling, and reconstructing existing designs to create new silhouettes.

The collection draws inspiration from Les Incroyables and Les Merveilleuses, the rebellious figures of post-revolutionary France who influenced Galliano’s early creative language. Through couture-inspired techniques such as physical reconstruction, digital manipulation, resizing, layering, and combining different elements, the designer transforms past Zara pieces into modern interpretations.

The garments showcase a wide range of luxury-inspired materials, including muslin voile, georgette, tulle, lace, netting, wool fabrics, and metallic details. The collection includes pieces for both men and women, featuring coats, dresses, skirts, tops, shirts, suits, and statement accessories.

Footwear options include Oxfords, boots, and court shoes, while accessories feature hats and the “Tri Chic” bag, available in multiple sizes.

To celebrate the launch, Zara is hosting a special pop-up experience at a private townhouse on Rue des Archives in Paris from October 1 to 6. The immersive exhibition explores the creative journey behind the collection, taking visitors through Galliano’s research, sketches, and transformation of Zara archive pieces using haute couture-inspired methods.

Following the Paris presentation, Zara will launch the collection globally through its online platform and selected flagship stores, including locations in London and Madrid.

With Re{form}, Zara continues its strategy of moving beyond traditional fast fashion by collaborating with influential designers and embracing craftsmanship, storytelling, and elevated design.
