Launched in 2023 by Victoire Tassin and Yasmine Brunet, Wherewear aims to attract 150,000 women users within the next 18 months.
Wherewear started when Brunet lent a jumpsuit to Tassin — a simple act that inspired the idea of a shared wardrobe. Since then, the platform evolved from a website to a full app, combining aspects of online resale and rental akin to a blend of Vinted and Airbnb.
So far, Wherewear lists around 3,000 items and has 1,500 registered users. On average, users log in for about five sessions per day, and the platform reports a 100% repeat rental rate.
Wherewear’s business model charges a commission to the garment owner. For example, a dress bought for €250 rented out for four days might be listed for €40; after fees, the owner earns around €32, while the renter covers shipping costs. A deposit is required to safeguard against damage.
Looking ahead, Wherewear hopes to expand beyond women’s fashion into menswear and childrenswear, and eventually grow internationally. For now, their focus remains on broadening their presence across France — especially outside Paris, since many rentals currently happen in the capital.
