The NYFW Street Style Looks Inspiring Our Shopping

Despite technically having all summer to both mentally and physically prepare for New York Fashion Week, we can’t help but feel like we’re thrust into the whirlwind that is bopping from event to show to backstage every September—we wouldn’t have it any other way, though. And now that it’s all over, we can’t help but miss it.

One of our favorite parts of NYFW is the street style looks because, in September, they’re often a masterclass in transitional dressing, a forecast of trends we’ll be seeing all throughout the fall, and just the inspiration that we need.

This season, we witnessed a bit of seasonal blindness with both warm-weather and cold-weather dressing dominating. Throughout the week, we learned a few solid lessons: overalls will have you looking chic while reconnecting you with your inner child, baggy jeans and black sneakers are wardrobe staples, and it might be time for all us to purchase an aviator jacket.
