In the dynamic world of fashion, recognition, and mentorship play crucial roles in nurturing creativity and shaping the industry’s future. Stepping into this pivotal role, the ANDAM Fashion Awards—France’s most prestigious platform for young designers—has announced Sidney Toledano as the President of its 2025 jury. With decades of unparalleled experience in luxury fashion, Toledano’s appointment signals a landmark moment for emerging talent and promises an exciting new chapter for the awards’ legacy.

Sidney Toledano: A Visionary at the Helm

Sidney Toledano embodies excellence in the global luxury landscape. Over a celebrated career spanning decades, he served as CEO of Christian Dior for 20 years before becoming President of the LVMH Fashion Group, leading powerhouse brands like Celine, Givenchy, and Kenzo to further success. Though he officially stepped back from the LVMH Fashion Group in January 2024, Toledano’s influence remains formidable.

Now, as President of the ANDAM 2025 jury, Toledano brings his strategic expertise and passion for mentorship to the forefront. His role as President of the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) further strengthens his contributions, blending business acumen with a commitment to fostering creativity and education. Speaking on his new role at ANDAM, he remarked:
“It’s an honor to help guide the future of fashion through the ANDAM Awards. Sharing my experience and passion with the winners is something I am truly looking forward to.”

ANDAM: A Legacy of Supporting Creativity

Founded in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, the ANDAM Fashion Awards (National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts) is more than a competition. It’s a springboard for innovation, offering not only monetary prizes but also invaluable mentorship, resources, and industry connections. Previous recipients include trailblazers like Martin Margiela, Marine Serre, and Alexandre Mattiussi, the latter of whom now sponsors the awards through his successful brand AMI.

The 2025 ANDAM Awards boast a prize pool of €700,000, distributed across five categories:
– ANDAM Grand Prize
– Special Prize
– Pierre Bergé Prize
– Fashion Accessories Prize
– Fashion Innovation Prize

The competition calendar will unfold with the jury announcement in February 2025, the unveiling of finalists in May, and the eagerly awaited award ceremony on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Over the years, ANDAM has cultivated a high-caliber ecosystem of industry sponsors, including Balenciaga, Chanel, Hermès, LVMH, Lacoste, Swarovski, and more. Add to this the steadfast support of the French Ministry of Culture and DEFI (Committee for the Promotion and Development of the French Fashion Industry), and it’s clear that ANDAM represents a formidable collaborative effort to champion young talent.

Bridging Creativity and Competition

Toledano’s leadership comes at an interesting juncture, where some within the industry have highlighted a perceived rivalry between ANDAM and the LVMH Prize for Young Designers, another prestigious platform supporting emerging talent. However, with Toledano serving as a bridge between the two entities, this narrative of competition shifts to one of collaboration. His involvement in both efforts speaks to his unwavering dedication to fostering fashion’s future, regardless of organizational boundaries.

Moreover, ANDAM’s long-standing emphasis on sustainability and innovation aligns uniquely with evolving industry goals. The addition of sponsors like AMI underscores the cyclical nature of the awards, with past winners now giving back to help propel new designers forward. Reflecting on his experience, Alexandre Mattiussi, founder of AMI and the 2013 ANDAM Grand Prize winner, stated:
“Winning the Grand Prize transformed not just my career but also the history of my brand. I’m thrilled to partner with ANDAM this year to continue the cycle of giving back.”

Looking Ahead to 2025

With Sidney Toledano at the helm, the 2025 ANDAM Fashion Awards promise a forward-looking approach that honors tradition while embracing new industry challenges. Through its robust mentorship framework, financial backing, and an esteemed jury led by one of fashion’s most accomplished executives, ANDAM continues to empower emerging designers to leave their mark on an ever-changing industry.

As the countdown to June 30, 2025, begins, the awards serve as a reminder of fashion’s transformative power—not just to create, but to uplift and inspire. For the next generation of designers, the ANDAM Fashion Awards remain a beacon of opportunity and a symbol of what’s truly possible when creativity meets mentorship.
