Brazilian designer Patricia Bonaldi, founder and creative director of PatBo, has officially expanded her brand’s universe with the launch of its first-ever footwear collection, unveiled during the label’s “Latin Soul” show at New York Fashion Week.

“It was always a dream,” Bonaldi shared ahead of the presentation. “Shoes are more technical and specific, so I was waiting for the right moment to do this. I really believe this is a business inside a business.”

The footwear line arrives as PatBo continues to evolve from a celebrated ready-to-wear brand into a comprehensive lifestyle label. Launching in late October—just in time for the holiday season—the debut marks a strategic milestone for the company, which first launched in 2002. “Our customer is expecting this,” Bonaldi noted. “It’s natural for us to offer this category now.”

True to the brand’s DNA, the new PatBo shoes are crafted in Brazil, a country Bonaldi praises for its deep-rooted expertise in shoemaking. The collection features architectural silhouettes such as platforms, block-heel sandals, and mules—each balancing sleek, clean lines with the brand’s signature feminine flair and floral details.

Comfort was central to the design process. Bonaldi worked closely with specialized suppliers to ensure both elegance and wearability. “Luxury craftsmanship tied in with our brand’s DNA will make our shoes stand out,” she said.

While PatBo’s clothing is known for its bold embellishments and textures, Bonaldi designed the footwear to complement rather than compete with her garments. “It’s a little different from the clothes because it’s more clean,” she explained. “The clothes are so detailed that the shoes had to balance that—but of course, there are pairs with flowers and textures, using materials from our collections.”

Retail prices will range from $450 to $1,200, with an average pair priced around $650. The footwear will initially be available exclusively through PatBo stores and online, with plans to introduce the collection to retailers in December after initial feedback.

Among the standout pieces is a mule sandal with a sculptural lotus-flower heel—a new motif that will soon appear across the brand’s accessories, from buckles to buttons. “It’s very beautiful, very unique, and I think it will be our best seller,” Bonaldi said.

With this debut, PatBo reaffirms its identity as a modern luxury brand that bridges craftsmanship, culture, and innovation. And this is only the beginning—Bonaldi revealed that made-in-Italy handbags will follow next year. “Accessories bring a new level of maturity for the brand,” she added. “This is a new chapter for PatBo.”
