Next year, Josie Natori is celebrating her namesake business’ milestone 50th anniversary.

“It was really the opportunity to revisit all of our 50 years of inspiration,” Natori said of her spring collection, which mixed signature sheer lingerie dressing with nods to her Philippine roots and signature prints, silhouettes and East-meets-West influences that have shaped the brand for five decades.

There was a mix of waved ocean blue and painterly peony floral prints, as seen on an asymmetric caftan and drapey silk blouses with matching scarf that tied around the waist in a trend-forward way. She extended the floral motif into textural lace accents on a button-down shirt worn over a delicate lace-trimmed bralette, as tonal embroideries on signature Filipino barong shirts. She even turned the peony into a fresh pair of white trousers made out of laser-cut appliqués and embroidered the piece onto sheer black styles, playing into the lingerie dressing and transparency trend running through New York Fashion Week.

Reflecting on her upcoming milestone, Natori said across the board, she’s been elevating her collections, from couture to lingerie to ready-to-wear, to offer customers unique, special pieces. In spring, this came through with lightness and ease.
