Haider Ackermann set the tone for his latest Tom Ford collection days before the runway show, posting a video of Scott Barnhill intimately admiring his own reflection. The provocative clip was brief but striking, offering a preview of the sensual, unapologetic atmosphere that would define the Spring 2027 collection.
When the lights came up in the nearly dark venue, glass panels framed the runway. Models appeared in varying stages of undress, stopping to admire themselves or exchange glances through the transparent partitions. This kind of theatrical choreography has become a signature of Ackermann’s work at Tom Ford, alongside the label’s familiar plunging, unbuttoned shirts. The soundtrack featured Tina Turner and David Bowie, punctuated by intimate sounds that reinforced the show’s deliberately erotic mood.
Barnhill opened the presentation in a sharply tailored pinstripe suit that emphasized his sculpted physique. An undone olive shirt exposed his chest hair and defined abs, while a slim scarf bearing his monogram added a personal touch. The next look introduced a woman in pinstripes, carrying a briefcase while wearing a close-fitting, bra-free fishnet T-shirt—a contrast between corporate polish and provocative styling.
From there, Ackermann explored variations of black leather cocktailwear for men and women, including a sleeveless muscle shirt with the Tom Ford logo cut directly into the fabric. The collection then shifted toward more relaxed pieces: military-green trench coats and flight suits, faded and distressed denim, cargo trousers, and exceptionally short shorts for men.
Eveningwear brought a more glamorous edge. Women wore red gowns with strategically positioned cut-outs and dramatic thigh-high slits, alongside rhinestone-embellished halter tops and jackets. Men appeared in elegantly tailored tuxedos and tank tops that exposed the chest.
The show reached its peak with a series of minimal black swimsuits designed to reveal more than they concealed. These pieces seemed intended for striking a pose rather than swimming laps. One male model paired racing briefs with a turtleneck, turning repeatedly to reveal the garment’s revealing back.
Backstage, Ackermann described the collection as sensual, even when the models were exposing their bodies. The result was a confident mix of sexuality, relaxed glamour and calculated provocation. With this presentation, the designer delivered a collection that embraced the daring spirit associated with Tom Ford while pushing it into even more audacious territory.
