Omar Bertona made a strong debut at Bugatchi with his first collection as the brand’s new Milan-based head designer. His Spring 2026 lineup, shown during New York Fashion Week, introduced a special Made in Italy capsule that reflects his roots while elevating Bugatchi’s image as a luxury essentials brand.

The capsule draws inspiration from the Italian lifestyle—think the serene villas of Lake Como, the colorful charm of the Amalfi Coast, and the natural beauty of Pantelleria Island. It captures that effortless elegance Italy is known for, blending craftsmanship with contemporary design. Each piece is made from premium Italian fabrics, with prints that are handmade and exclusive to Bugatchi.

The Made in Italy range offers both tailored and casual pieces. Standouts include a lightweight jersey jacket crafted from cotton, linen, and silk; a refined cotton-cashmere tracksuit; a water-repellent travel jacket detailed with leather-trimmed pockets; a cotton-linen jacquard sweater; and a sleek seersucker bomber jacket. Prices for the capsule sit about 40 percent above Bugatchi’s core line, with knitwear ranging from $300 to $500 and blazers between $798 and $998.

While this elevated capsule takes the spotlight, the brand hasn’t neglected its core collection—it’s been refreshed to complement the new offering. Swimwear has even joined the lineup, adding another layer of versatility to the Bugatchi wardrobe.

Stephane Abitbol, executive vice president of corporate development and legal at Bugatchi, shared that the Made in Italy line has been performing exceptionally well with specialty stores and is expected to continue gaining traction. “We don’t want to toss our core,” he said. “We wanted the capsule to continue to elevate the brand. It’s all meant to be worn together and present the best version of Bugatchi.”

With Bertona’s arrival, Bugatchi seems to be stepping confidently into a new era—one that celebrates Italian craftsmanship while staying true to its DNA of refined, easy luxury.
