Sidney Toledano praised Camille Miceli’s appointment as creative director of Pucci in 2021, seeing it as a turning point in the maison’s history and a chance for her to write a new chapter in Pucci’s legendary history. Having earned her name at prestigious brands like Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton, Miceli was no stranger to the difficulties of reviving legendary fashion firms and approached the assignment with unyielding tenacity. After LVMH acquired the bulk of Pucci’s stock in 2000, Miceli set out to reinvent Vivara, one of the brand’s most well-known designs, which Emilio Pucci himself created in 1965 as a tribute to the Mediterranean.
