Stockmann Officially Changes: It has finally occurred after much anticipation from Stockmann Group. Formerly known as Lindex, the company has changed its name to Lindex Group to reflect its focus on renowned Scandinavian department stores.

The decision is a reflection of how important its womenswear brand has become.

The Finnish name for the company will be Lindex Group Oyj, the English name will be Lindex Group plc, and the Swedish name will be Lindex Group Abp.

The ticker symbol for the company’s stock exchange listing will be changing from STOCKA to LINDEX, most likely.

The group’s shining star is Lindex, which has been performing admirably in recent periods in markets across Europe and the UK, despite the fact that department shops generally have had a rough go of it.

The corporation was careful to clarify that “the iconic Stockmann department store brand, the Stockmann department store names or the online store” will remain unchanged despite the name change. Efforts to boost the division’s efficiency are ongoing.

However, the article did note that the shift occurred as a result of the Lindex division’s increased importance to the group’s operations. With an adjusted operational result of more than €90 million, the womenswear brand is now responsible for two-thirds of the group’s revenue.
