Yoonchae, a member of girl group Katseye, takes skincare seriously. Having grown up in Seoul, the heart of the K-beauty scene, she understands the importance of caring for her skin. However, rather than following an elaborate routine, she prefers to keep things simple. “I’m more into a three-step beauty routine than ten,” she explains, noting that her sensitive skin is prone to breakouts.

Maintaining a clear complexion can be challenging when her schedule involves demanding dance rehearsals, heavy stage makeup and high-profile appearances at events such as Fashion Week and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her recent partnership with Dr. Jart and its specially selected Glass Skin edit offers a little extra help.

One product she has come to rely on is the brand’s Cryo Rubber Moisturizing Face Mask. Yoonchae says she noticed that whenever she used it, her skin felt calmer the following day. She now incorporates the mask into her preparation for major events, pairing it with another technique she discovered online: facial massage. After watching YouTube videos demonstrating how to massage the face before applying skincare, she decided to make it part of her own routine, particularly before performances.

Away from the stage, Yoonchae takes an even more relaxed approach to beauty. On her days off, she usually skips foundation and reaches for Dr. Jart’s BB cream instead. Its lightweight texture makes application simple—she just blends it in with her fingers.

It has also been six months since Yoonchae and the other Katseye members debuted their new blonde looks, with each member embracing a different shade to mark the group’s next chapter. And according to Yoonchae, the change has brought a noticeable shift in how she feels when performing.

“Being blonde feels really different, especially when I’m on stage,” she says. “I have an entirely different personality with my blonde hair.”
