Paltrow’s first job? A stock girl at Penny Whistle Toys on Madison Avenue. But seventh-grade Gwyneth didn’t know to ask for time off before heading on spring break—so she got fired.

That early misstep didn’t derail her drive. Now, she runs a company that spans beauty, fashion, food, and retail, and she calls it the most dynamic and rewarding job she’s ever had.

“I’ve had to learn so much, it’s so creative, and it also requires so much discipline and ongoing education.”

Post-#MeToo Hollywood and a Return to Film

After years away from acting, Paltrow stars in Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme”, hitting screens this December. Returning to set felt natural, she says, and she’s noticed a positive shift in the industry.

Paltrow also addressed her infamous candle, “This Smells Like My Vagina.” While the item was undeniably polarizing, she stands firm in her approach to controversy.

“If you are living in integrity… you move through controversy. Most of the time, it’s projected on you. It does pass very quickly.”

And yes—she’s toying with the idea of bringing the candles back. Just maybe with a tamer scent next time.
