Kendall Jenner on her two “Angelic” Looks for the Met Gala 2024 After-Parties
Kendall Jenner on her two “Angelic” Looks: Just like her primary red carpet costume, Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala after-party ensembles never fail to make an impression. Both last year and the year before, she wowed in a Miu Miu midi-skirt and sheer lace crop top, and this year, she wore a sequined bodysuit by Nensi Dojaka that was evocative of a Chanel spring/summer 1994 look.
Again, Jenner turned to Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood for a rather more covered-up style. A matching miniskirt and a beautiful white lace overlay with ethereal bell sleeves were her accessories. Her custom-made gold corset was the perfect finishing touch. “I have always admired the house of Vivienne Westwood and the looks that are strong, but also feminine and sexy,” Jenner tells the magazine. “When Andreas presented me this sketch, I fell in love immediately, and it fit perfectly.”

Jenner was very careful to match and contrast her red carpet gown, a 1999 Givenchy by Alexander McQueen design, with her after-party outfit. “I really wanted to continue a story of a Renaissance-inspired dress, and the dreamy sleeves, lace, and beading felt not only Met special, but angelic and a contrast to my carpet look,” according to her.

Vivienne Westwood wasn’t Jenner’s only choice for the after-party; she also chose a white Givenchy by Alexander McQueen dress from the spring/summer 1997 collection that had real angel wings. Party dress for Jenner is all on comfort and mobility, even though she loves to accessorize with vintage pieces. A dancing floor is calling Jenner’s name. “I just want to have fun; I want my look to have fun with me.”
Going off on her previous experiences, Jenner definitely accomplished her goal of having fun again. “I love the whole night; I love the creativity and planning that goes into it, seeing all my friends inside,” she tells me. “The whole day feels special—I always look forward to the Met.”
