Elisabetta Franchi, a famous Italian women’s ready-to-wear brand, has announced its exciting expansion into the wedding and occasionwear category, taking its relaunch journey to new heights. In collaboration with the prestigious Spanish bridalwear brand Pronovias, Elisabetta Franchi is preparing to launch her debut bridal collection towards the year’s end.

Following in the footsteps of her namesake designer and businesswoman mentor, Elisabetta Franchi enthusiastically voiced her support for the endeavor, reiterating her dedication to outfitting clients for life’s most momentous milestones. Together, Elisabetta Franchi and Pronovias aim to bring a new level of modern elegance and painstaking craftsmanship to the fashion industry. The foundation of this cooperation is a mutual commitment to unmatched quality and a shared vision for future trends, materials, and volumes.

The arrival of Gabriele Maggio as CEO at the start of 2024 gave Elisabetta Franchi’s relaunch strategy a boost, and the launch of a bridal line is a watershed event in that approach. Marco Bizzarri, a former official at Gucci, is now president of Elisabetta Franchi and has just bought a stake in the company, lending credence to this strategic move.

Elisabetta Franchi has been based out of Bologna since 2008, but in 2013 they opened a shop in Milan to further increase their reach. The brand has a strong international presence, with 85 monobrand outlets in 78 countries and a sales of €70 million in 2023. Its EBIT margin was an excellent 31.8%.

At the same time, Pronovias underwent a transformation with the hiring of Marc Calabia as CEO and Anna Ramirez as creative director, following a shift in ownership from BC Partners to Bain Capital and MV Credit. Elisabetta Franchi and her team are about to revolutionize bridal fashion by providing brides all over the world with a one-of-a-kind, cutting-edge wedding dress experience.

According to Marc Calabia, the Italian market is very important to Pronovias. He also said that the fact that the two brands work together shows that they respect innovation, quality, and workmanship. The wedding business behemoth Pronovias is not only the licensee for Vera Wang Bride and Marchesa, but it also owns the Nicole Milano premium brand and the Atelier Pronovias label. The group’s 92 Pronovias and Nicole boutiques in major cities including Paris, London, Milan, and New York, as well as its presence in over 100 countries through 4,000 multibrand retailers, allow it to continue shaping the worldwide bridal scene.
