Naturally, Ben Affleck wore customized Nike Dunks from Dunkin’ Donuts.

The Gone Girl star, Ben Affleck, was noticed by onlookers in Los Angeles wearing a wool work jacket overlaid over a plaid flannel—a common combination, particularly on those seldom-cold days in California. But at first sight, Affleck’s boots were different from the typical Nike Dunk Lows. Upon closer examination, it became clear that these shoes were anything from typical; sneaker customizer Ant Kai had created a unique, unauthorized Dunkin’-inspired design for the doughnut chain on commission to commemorate the debut of Affleck’s film Air. The all-leather limited edition “What the Dunkin” shoes were painted in the brand’s signature pink, brown, orange, and beige hues. The whole aesthetic, which included a dripping Swoosh and sprinkle graphics on the toe box, was reminiscent of the extremely popular Ben & Jerry’s x Nike SB Dunk Low from 2020.

Oscar-winner Affleck has one of the most fantastic shoe collections in the entertainment industry. He always goes for the most anticipated releases, whether the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 or the Fragment Design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low—his collection of ‘What the Dunkin’ Dunks’ is well complemented by these rare pieces. Notably, a limited number of the custom shoes were auctioned to benefit the Dunkin’ Joy Foundation.

The popularity of this bespoke DunkinDonuts-inspired design and Affleck’s predilection for unusual footwear selections make one question whether an official Ben Affleck x Dunkin’ Donuts sneaker partnership is imminent. If there are any such changes, we’ll watch closely and keep our cash on hand.
