Spring/Summer 2020 Collection at NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai
There was a rooftop, some sunshine and Jonathan Simkhai showing his Spring/Summer 2020 Collection during the New York Fashion Week. The Collection was soft, feminine and had a vibe of everyday wear. One could easily laze in some of the pieces by the ocean or wear the pantsuit in a formal setting.
“I always feel happy in spring, and I think that that joyfulness is something I can give to the clothes.”
This season Simkhai’s palette inspiration of ecru, lilac, blue sky, and Sedona clay came from the works of Georgia O’Keeffe. Simkhai mostly stuck to slit dresses and jumpsuits with a couple of pant-suits and trench coats for this collection. His finale piece refreshed the concept of pajama dressing. The designer also launched the collection of his first handbags in partnership with Apply Pay. Models were seen carrying some of these bags down the runway. They included a napa leather grocery bag, a belt bag, a cross-body, and a clutch. It is a good start for a designer in this accessories department.
