Brandon Maxwell had dedicated his Fall’19 Collection to his mother. Emotions ran high during that show as the designer invited his mother to walk down the runway with him. Maxwell hasn’t had it easy post that. The designer has spent the past few months nursing his mom also wrapping up the filming of the season, “Project Runway.” As the designer dealt with the hardships in his life, he also felt immense gratitude to the people who loved him and stood by him during this time. This group included his finance and a group of friends whose requests formed the basis of inspiration from Brandon Maxwell’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection.

The designer surprised the audience as he debuted his men’s wear collection this spring. The palette was that of red, lilac, and emerald. The collection consisted of suits, coats, sweaters paired with jeans. His tailoring skills were fully on display in the men’s wear. In the women’s department, the designer focused on daywear as his friends requested something they could wear in everyday life. The designer used a lot of denim in the collection. There were seaters paired with denim jeans, blazers over skinny jeans or pants along with button-down blouses paired with skirts and shorts. There were also jersey dresses and evening gowns. Overall, the collection had something for every occasion.
