Breezy and graceful are the words that can be used to describe Badgley Mischka’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection, which they presented at the New York Fashion Week. Mark Badgley and James Mischka took inspiration from Claudette Colbert tropical getaway home on the island of Barbados and the Hollywood glam haven she made that place. “The way they entertained at night and dressed by night was beautiful; we saw photos, and it was so inspirational. It brought an ease to the glamour that we wanted to capture in the clothes,” said Badgley post show.

The designer duo’s collection consisted of 51 pieces. The color palette was inspired by the island of Barbados. The designer duo took inspiration from the colors of vegetation, the floral and the lagoon shades. When it came to the designing on could find bouquets of wildflowers,  hibiscus, and poppies along with tropical leaves splashed across the diverse range of pieces.

“We hope it feels like you’re on a vacation when you’re wearing these clothes.”

Badgley Mischka’s collection consisted both of day wear and evening wear, and we couldn’t pick what we liked more. The Spring/Summer 2020 Collection consisted of belted frocks, some power suits, printed dresses, and kaftans. The swimsuits came with blazers and coordinated tops. For the evening wear, there were a plethora of gowns to choose from and evening dresses to choose from. The whole collection felt light and welcoming. It felt like a vacation getaway indeed!
