Spring/Summer 2020 Collection at NYFW: Anna Sui
For her Spring/Summer 2020 Collection, Anna Sui had said that her collection was going to be all about unabashed, whimsical femininity, light as air and frothing with sweetness. And on the runway during the NYFW, she delivered a collection that was airy and floral. Anna Sui took inspiration from mid-20th-century artist Lila de Nobili who was a costume designer, set designer, and illustrator. Nobili’s drawings formed the context for Sui’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection.
The collection consisted of 54 pieces and had a wide array of clothing pieces to choose from. There were chiffon dresses and ponchos over pants. Also, on the runway were mesh tops, tanks, tunics, quilted and tweed jackets. One could also spot a kaftans, windbreakers, and knitwear’s in the collection. The collection was brought together by a common thread of floral and geometric embroideries, use of ruffles and feathers. The collection was rounded up by quirky colorful printed socks which could be seen through the different footwear of platform shoes, boots, and sandals. Overall, the collection was light, layered and whimsical.
