Jason Wu Collection: Fall 2020 Collection

On several occasions, the simplest of words are needed to describe something. Jason Wu Collection Fall 2020 was just that. It was beautiful and romantic. Designer Jason Wu’s inspiration for the Fall 2020 Collection was Orchids and Egon Schiele. Everything from the ambiance and runway to the collection was in sync with the theme.

Jason Wu collaborated with Australian expressionist artist Jessica May Underwood this season. She is known for her erotic, and deeply psychological paintings, and her graphic orchid patterns were reproduced by Jason Wu on his pieces. The designer this season worked with a color palette of violet, teal, turquoise, and fuchsia. The whole focus of the collection was on craftsmanship and a play with the fabric.

“With this collection I really wanted to showcase New York’s craftsmanship because we don’t get credit for it.”

The opening piece was a hyper cape which set the tone for the evening. The Swarovski crystal work on the tulle dress was refined and elegant. Similarly, the play with feathers on the part frock made for a sophisticated piece. The pieces were timeless and crafted with perfection. The whole collection just went on to show the fineness and experience that the designer Jason Wu possesses after a decade and a half in the fashion industry.
