Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo described their Fall’19 Couture Collection as a “1930s soirée en plein air,” in their program notes. And from the runway to the collection, one could feel the essence of it. The show was held at the British Embassy with a long runway installed in the embassy’s garden. The designer duo’s Fall’19 Collection was inspired by art-deco and one could see that in the detailing of motifs, pearls, ostrich feathers, crystals and flower outlines in the pieces. The collection took interpretations from the artist Erté along with that of Chanel, Dior, and Paco Rabanne.

The Collection started with a color palette of white which moved on to pastel hues turning into bright shades of yellow and red. The collection had the signature mini dresses and caped gowns along with a couple of cocktail minis, tweed suits, peplum jackets and miniskirts. The collection had a mix feel of everyday wear and couture as the designer duo tried including a younger clientele to their brand. The pieces were nicely balanced to cater to a no. of occasions.
