New York Fashion Week is winding down, and with it, the packed front rows full of familiar faces. The fall 2026 season opened with Marc Jacobs, whose knowingly self-referential collection reached back into his own archives—pulling from his spring 1993 Perry Ellis era and his namesake fall 1995 collection—while also nodding to Prada’s spring 1996 and Helmut Lang’s fall 1995 shows. With so many ’90s callbacks, and an audience that included Sofia Coppola, Monica, and Anna Sui, the room felt just a step away from a full-on return to the era when New York fashion ruled the conversation.
The Ralph Lauren show followed with an equally star-packed crowd, as Anne Hathaway and Lili Reinhart arrived to see the latest collection. At Proenza Schouler, Rachel Scott’s debut drew names like Olivia Munn and Tommy Dorfman, both leaning into sharp, minimal looks for the occasion.
As the week rolled on, heavyweight brands including Coach, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein kept the celebrity momentum strong, each drawing their own mix of A-listers. At the same time, labels like Collina Strada, Colleen Allen, and Diotima shifted attention toward emerging voices, spotlighting designers focused on re-energizing the city’s fashion scene—one show even counting New York City’s first lady among its guests.
