Drake Bell Reveals He Spoke Out: Drake Bell broke down in tears on Monday’s “Today“ show as he discussed his decision to come out about the sexual abuse he claims he endured while working at Nickelodeon.

 Things were “spiraling out of control“ for Bell “personally and mentally,“ so he chose to feature in the 2024 Investigation Discovery documentary “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,“ as he remarked on “Today.”

 He said, “this could aid in the healing process, and also help others who have gone through the same or similar situations.“

 Bell made allegations of sexual abuse by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck against him in the documentary. Lewd behavior with a kid led to Peck’s 2003 arrest. He received a sentence of sixteen months in jail after entering a not-guilty plea. In “Quiet on Set,“ Bell finally admitted that he was the minor involved in the case.

 On “Today,“ Bell stated, “What I’ve learned is that you’re not alone.“ I was under the impression that I was the only one dealing with that for a long time. Now I can see the whole picture, revisit that petite guy, and have another conversation with him.

 Saying, “It’s going to be OK,“ he would hold his younger self and reassure him if he could converse with him. You will discover inner fortitude.

 “Today“ spoke with Nickelodeon representatives who said the network has taken several measures to prevent harm to youngsters. NBC News’ Kate Snow mentioned on “Today“ that the show tried to contact “the 2003 attorney“ who represented Peck, but they never heard back.

 The attempted endangerment of a child allegation was brought against Bell in 2021. He admitted sending “some messages that shouldn’t have been exchanged“ to a fan who was 15 years old and pled guilty. Bell was accused of sexually assaulting the adolescent fan.

 According to Bell, he struggled with substance abuse in the years following the claimed abuse by Peck.

 He said on ” Today, ” “You try to cloud it with as much as you can“ because you’re afraid to face these things.

 According to him, one of the reasons the actor came forward was because of his 3-year-old son.

 I wish he could see that his dad faced similar challenges when he got older and be able to relate. And the man I know now is an inspiration,‘” Bell remarked.
