Auburn University Football Star : Tragically, early Saturday morning, a gunshot that killed his brother left Auburn Tigers running back Brian Battie seriously wounded. Two of Brian and Tommie Battie’s friends were among five persons shot in a shooting that happened in a Sarasota, Florida, parking lot at Tallywood Centre Plaza. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported the incident to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

 When police arrived, they discovered a vast mob encircling the bodies of the victims. Brian Battie, 22, was taken to the hospital immediately and is still in the intensive care unit; Tommie Battie, 24, was declared dead at the site.

 It all started for Brian Battie in football at USF, where he spent three years before transferring to Auburn for the 2023 campaign. Throughout 51 carries for Auburn, he gained 227 yards. But his return specialist talents were on full display as he returned 29 kickoffs for 645 yards.
