Anna Paquin Reacts To Concerned Fans After Using A Cane In Public
At the New York City premiere of her new film “A Bit of Light,” Anna Paquin was seen with a black cane, and she said she is grateful for the support and concern her fans have shown her. The actor from “True Blood” tried to assuage spectators’ fears about her health by expressing courteous gratitude, although he did admit that the situation had caused some concern.
Her message to Entertainment Tonight, released on Friday, emphasized how she is “extraordinarily touched and moved” by people demonstrating their care, curiosity, and kindness over the matter.
“At some point, I will probably elaborate on my own platform in my own words,” said the woman. “I’m just really grateful for the support.”
Paquin has opted to keep mum about her hidden health issue, but a source has told ET that she has recently struggled with movement and speech. Nonetheless, reports from ET and People indicate that she is optimistic about making a full recovery.
“It hasn’t been easy,” the actor told People.
Paquin plays the role of Ella, a drunken mother who has lost custody of her girls, in “A Bit of Light,” which was directed by her husband, Stephen Moyer.
“Not everyone ends up having the journey with motherhood that they have hoped or had planned,” she told the publication. “We’re all flawed and imperfect, and Ella is kind of on some level repeating some sort of familial patterns as far as stuffing feelings down.”
According to Moyer, Ella is “quite a broken character and a broken soul,” and he said that Paquin was his first pick for the part because of how she could fully inhabit the multi-faceted character.
Moyer claims that the message of “A Bit of Light” is that people may, in spite of adversity, “exist again.”
“It’s been a difficult three, four years for everybody on the planet,” according to him. “So I think that the film represents that little bit of hope that we all sort of need sometimes for whatever it is that you’re going through.”
