Dua Lipa’s literary taste is matched by her flair for fashion. Through her successful Service95 Book Club, the singer has made her love of reading well known. This weekend, she brought that passion to the stage, hosting a series of conversations at the Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival. As expected, her wardrobe was every bit as carefully curated as her reading list.

On Saturday, Lipa welcomed two celebrated literary figures to the Royal Festival Hall: acclaimed novelist Zadie Smith and Sudanese Canadian poet and musician Mustafa. Her conversation with Smith centred on White Teeth, the author’s landmark debut novel published in 2000, while her discussion with Mustafa explored Nour, his 2025 poetry collection examining love, grief, faith, and devotion.

The two conversations offered very different perspectives—and called for equally distinct fashion choices.

A Chanel moment with Zadie Smith

For her conversation with Smith, Lipa remained loyal to Chanel, a label that has become a regular fixture in her wardrobe. She chose a tomato-red knitted dress from the brand’s Fall 2026 collection, featuring a dropped waist and fluffy embellishments at the elbows and hips.

Rather than embrace the softer styling seen on the runway, Lipa gave the ladylike silhouette an edgier finish with towering, lace-up black leather knee-high boots by Le Silla. Her dark hair was slicked back, while sculptural red earrings completed the look.

Smith was equally elegant in a draped black sleeveless top fastened with a brooch at the collar, oat-coloured corduroy trousers, and patent black heels.

Prada for an evening with Mustafa

Later that evening, Lipa switched designers for her conversation with Mustafa, turning to Prada for a more understated but playful ensemble.

She wore a black Re-Nylon tank top, with flashes of hot-pink bra straps visible at the shoulders, paired with a matching pencil skirt. Embroidered daisy cotton socks, pulled high up her calves, added a whimsical touch when styled with white satin pumps trimmed with delicate feathers.

Oversized hoop earrings, a sleek bun, and dark nail polish completed the outfit, balancing sporty details with a polished evening aesthetic.

Dua Lipa embraces autumn fashion

Lipa has also been experimenting with the season’s broader fashion trends. In recent weeks, she has been spotted out with her husband, Callum Turner, wearing a series of autumn-ready layers.

For a dog walk, she opted for a sage-green trench coat by Phoebe Philo. On another occasion, she wore a fluffy Lila jacket by Charlotte Simone with jeans and chunky Chrome Hearts boots for a studio session in New York.

Her off-duty style may be embracing warmer layers and cosy textures, but her onstage appearances and red-carpet choices reveal a continued appetite for fashion experimentation.

With Patti Smith next on her literary schedule, Lipa’s fashionable book tour is far from over. If her recent appearances are any indication, there are still plenty of stylish chapters ahead.
