Bottega Veneta opens new store in New York’s Meatpacking District
Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta has opened a new boutique in New York City, reinforcing its presence in one of Manhattan’s most dynamic retail neighbourhoods. The 312-square-metre store on 58 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District offers the brand’s full range of products and reflects its craftsmanship-driven identity.
The interior design blends understated luxury with carefully chosen materials. Concrete flooring and walls set a calm backdrop, while natural oak shelves and accents in Green Verde Saint Denis marble add warmth and texture to the space. Furniture by designers Jorge Zalszupin and Lea Colombo contributes to the boutique’s refined ambience. A glass vase by Venetian glassmaker Orsoni, founded in 1888, nods to Bottega Veneta’s Italian heritage.
A dedicated display cabinet highlights the house’s signature Intrecciato leather weave, introduced around 50 years ago and long a hallmark of its craftsmanship. The store also incorporates a cultural element, including an in-store library with curated works of poetry and painting, such as Robert Rauschenberg’s illustrations for Dante’s Inferno, Etel Adnan’s Between East & West and Ed Roberson’s Road Poems.
The new boutique carries Bottega Veneta’s complete men’s and women’s assortments, spanning bags, ready-to-wear, shoes and small leather goods. Customers can also shop eyewear, jewellery, fragrances and travel collections, making the store a comprehensive destination for the maison’s offerings.
Bottega Veneta was founded in 1966 in Vicenza, Italy, and opened its first New York store on Madison Avenue in 1972. The Meatpacking District location strengthens the brand’s footprint in Manhattan, joining existing boutiques and retail partnerships in the city’s luxury landscape.
The Meatpacking District is known for attracting both local shoppers and international visitors with its mix of high-end fashion boutiques, restaurants and cultural venues. Bottega Veneta’s arrival adds to the area’s appeal as a destination for luxury retail alongside houses such as Saint Laurent, Gucci and Hermès
By combining its craftsmanship heritage with thoughtful store design and a cultural touch, Bottega Veneta’s new New York boutique reflects the brand’s evolving approach to physical retail one that emphasises experience, identity and connection to the local creative community.
Overall, the opening marks an important step in the house’s ongoing expansion in the US, offering New Yorkers and visitors alike a full-service luxury destination that showcases the breadth of Bottega Veneta’s product universe and artisanal roots.
