l de Janeiro enters sun care category: Launching its Rio Radiance SPF 50 Sunscreen Collection, Sol de Janeiro has created waves in the sun care category. The collection is complemented by an enthralling campaign that features Sofia Richie Grainge, a media personality and model.

Advertising a sunscreen that is “Sunscreen Worthy of Your Skin,” the commercial features Richie Grainge as a goddess who is obsessed with the sun and wants to become one with it. The campaign takes a funny approach, drawing inspiration from pulp movie trailers from the 1960s and 1970s, by having the model humorously try to fly closer to the sun.

Both the film and the photographic campaign were directed by Warren Fu and produced by Photobomb in partnership with Chandelier Creative.

The Rio Radiance SPF 50 Sunscreen Collection features three different formulations and applications, marking Sol de Janeiro’s entry into sun care: body lotion, body spray, and body oil.

The sun care series employs a lightweight composition that offers broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection against the sun’s rays, gently moisturizes and softens the skin without leaving a greasy residue.

The appointment of Sofia Richie Grainge as the ambassador for the Rio Radiance SPF 50 range was met with enthusiasm by Heela Yang, CEO and co-founder of Sol de Janeiro. Yang praised Richie Grainge for embodying the brand’s values of holistic self-care and its pursuit of happiness and self-celebration on a worldwide scale.

Sol de Janeiro hopes to start a new chapter for the business with the Rio Radiance SPF 50 Collection, which highlights the significance of sunscreen that does double duty as a moisturizer, protector, and lightener for the skin.

L’Occitane International, which purchased Sol de Janeiro in 2021, had a remarkable 18.9% growth in the first nine months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to a recent trading update.
