The 2025 Fashion Awards delivered headline-making moments on Monday night—from star-studded arrivals and major designer wins to an unexpected PETA protest on the red carpet. Even H&M used the event to reveal its new collaboration with Stella McCartney, but the biggest story of the evening was who claimed the top industry honors.
Jonathan Anderson once again secured the coveted Designer of the Year award, marking his third consecutive win. The Loewe creative director, who also stepped into a leading role at Dior this year, reinforced his status as one of Britain’s most influential designers.
In womenswear, Sarah Burton took home the British Womenswear Designer of the Year title. The former Alexander McQueen visionary, now leading Givenchy’s design direction, was a warmly applauded choice. Meanwhile, Grace Wales Bonner—recently appointed as head of menswear at Hermès—earned the British Menswear Designer of the Year award for the second year in a row.
The Vanguard Award, celebrating the next generation of British fashion talent, went to Dilara Fındıkoğlu, further cementing her reputation as one of the industry’s most original voices.
Held at the Royal Albert Hall and hosted by Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated actor Colman Domingo, the ceremony drew a high-profile guest list including Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett, Anna Wintour, FKA Twigs, Sharon Stone, Kylie Minogue, Iman, Raye, David Gandy and others.

The night also spotlighted key contributors to the British fashion ecosystem. Lulu Kennedy and Raphaelle Moore received a Special Recognition Award for Fashion East, the talent incubator celebrating its 25th anniversary. Its impressive alumni roster includes Kim Jones, Simone Rocha, Jonathan Anderson, Martine Rose, Craig Green and Nensi Dojaka. In support of future talent, the BFC announced it will double funding for Fashion East over the next three years.
