The actress becomes the cosmetics giant’s newest global ambassador, celebrating a beauty philosophy rooted in authenticity, confidence and enhancing—not transforming—her natural features.

For Adria Arjona, beauty has never been about becoming someone else. The actress, who describes herself as a tomboy growing up, once avoided makeup altogether. But years of working alongside professional makeup artists have helped her discover an approach that feels true to her personality: enhancing her natural features without dramatically changing her appearance.

“I’ve discovered that with makeup you can enhance yourself without changing the way that you look, and that makes me feel really empowered, beautiful, and sexy because it’s still me,” she tells Vogue. “Now I believe less is more.”

That philosophy makes her new role as L’Oréal Paris’s global ambassador particularly meaningful. Although Arjona prefers a minimalist makeup routine, her connection to the beauty brand goes back decades—and the announcement represents a personal milestone.

A childhood connection to L’Oréal Paris

Half Puerto Rican and half Guatemalan, Arjona grew up moving around Latin America, where access to television shows and movies was not always consistent. Commercials, however, were a familiar part of everyday life.

“Commercials were my most consistent thing,” she recalls with a laugh. “The L’Oréal Paris commercial is so ingrained in my head. I just remember playing it with my little friends and being like ‘Porque tú lo vales.’ I’ve been doing that for so long, so to be able to now be an ambassador and be able to say ‘I’m worth it’ to a camera, it’s surreal.”

The actress received the news while filming The Thomas Crown Affair, a romantic heist film scheduled to debut in March 2027. She was relaxing at home with seven of her closest female friends and family members when she shared the announcement.

“We let out this huge scream,” she remembers.

The excitement continued during the campaign shoot, where her mother joined her. Arjona recalls the two of them looking at each other in disbelief, recognizing just how special the moment was.

She describes the production as a glamorous movie set, made even better by the warmth of the people involved. As she steps into the ambassador role, she hopes to contribute her own Latin American perspective while learning from the other ambassadors and the company.

She is also particularly interested in L’Oréal Paris’s philanthropic initiatives and the opportunity to work together on projects that support and empower women—a mission that connects with the work of her own foundation.

A glamorous campaign and a new mascara

Directed by Colin Cardo, Arjona’s campaign takes place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and introduces L’Oréal Paris’s new Volume Liberté mascara.

The product promises more than 800 percent additional volume in a single application, delivering lifted, defined lashes without clumping. Its formula is designed to resist smudging and flaking, while the sleek click-to-release packaging gives the mascara an elevated finish.

Arjona was particularly impressed by its presentation and performance.

“It almost feels like a piece of jewelry in your bag, or something super high-end and elevated,” she says. “I’m a very big mascara girl. This makes your lashes so beautiful and bold.”

The brush is another feature she appreciates. Her preferred daytime makeup is understated: she wants her lashes to appear darker and longer without making it obvious that she is wearing mascara. Volume Liberté, she says, helps achieve that effect and has become an essential item in her handbag.

The products behind her everyday beauty routine

Arjona’s approach to beauty is practical and uncomplicated. Most mornings begin with a workout, followed by a shower and time for her natural curls to air-dry. She uses L’Oréal Paris Elvive mousse to style her hair, appreciating that it creates a natural finish without leaving it stiff or crunchy.

When it comes to makeup, she gravitates toward versatile products that can serve more than one purpose.

Her everyday essentials include Volume Liberté mascara and the Blurfiller Lip Liner in Worth It Intense, a shade she carries with her regularly. Although the liner is designed to define the lips, Arjona also uses it to contour when she wants to add more dimension to her daytime look.

“I know it’s not designed to do that, but I’ll just go for it,” she says.

For a radiant finish, she reaches for L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion, which adds glow to the face and body. She also keeps Colour Riche Original Satin Lipstick for occasions when she wants a more polished look.

Her beauty philosophy remains consistent: makeup should complement what is already there rather than disguise it.

“I like makeup to to kind of enhance your own beauty, but not change too much,” she says. “I don’t like looking like I have a lot of makeup on.”

A full-circle moment

Arjona’s appointment as a L’Oréal Paris global ambassador represents more than a new professional partnership. It brings together childhood memories, her evolving relationship with makeup and a personal belief in helping women feel confident in their own appearance.

For someone who grew up repeating the brand’s famous message, now being able to deliver it herself carries special significance.

“It’s just so powerful; [being] an ambassador feels really full-circle to me,” she says. “I definitely don’t take it lightly.”
