You never quite know what to expect from Paris. As fashion’s ultimate authority on chic, the city is also a breeding ground for some of the beauty industry’s most influential trends. The Spring/Summer 2027 runways presented a striking contrast between experimental designs and a return to simplicity, with hair and makeup following suit. From beauty looks inspired by celebrity red carpets and viral TikTok trends to ethereal, high-fashion creations that feel far removed from everyday life, Paris delivered plenty to talk about. The verdict is in, and the fashion capital has spoken. Ahead, discover the hair and beauty trends emerging from Paris this season.

If you remember the obsession with long, single-sided feather earrings in the 2010s, Jonathan Anderson has an even more dramatic take. Introducing the flower-adorned earrings at Dior’s Spring/Summer 2027 show, where oversized floral arrangements dangled from a single ear, extending so far down that they could almost pass for hair extensions.

The statement accessories were a deliberate styling choice for a collection that explored the beauty of nature’s imperfections and asymmetry. Flowers have also become a recurring theme in Anderson’s work at Dior. Lilypads featured prominently in his Fall/Winter 2026 collection, while oversized cyclamens served as striking floral embellishments in his Spring/Summer 2026 haute couture debut.

Perhaps it’s best described as Dior déjà vu, especially considering Anderson’s continued exploration of the house’s archives and heritage in his Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

Seeing Red at Tom Ford

If there’s one colour Tom Ford has never had to think twice about, it’s red. The shade has featured prominently in the house’s beauty looks over recent seasons, from the deep maroon lips at Haider Ackermann’s Fall/Winter 2025 debut to the vivid neon-red pout at the Spring/Summer 2026 show. For Spring/Summer 2027, makeup artist Lucy Bridge took the colour even further, blending scarlet, burgundy, and peach across the lips and into smoky, deep-set eyes.

Sensuality has always been central to Tom Ford’s aesthetic, and few colours capture that seductive appeal quite like red. This season, the effect was amplified by Ackermann’s sleek, slinky tailoring worn against bare skin, creating a striking balance between sophistication and sensuality.

Beyond the Paris Fashion Week runways, red has also been enjoying a major beauty revival. Berry-red nails, strawberry-inspired blush, and cherry-cola lips have become familiar fixtures in online beauty conversations. And when Apple introduces a burgundy iPhone, it’s safe to say the red renaissance has officially entered the mainstream.

Olsen Tucks at Balenciaga

The easiest beauty trend of the season doesn’t require a new product or a salon appointment. In fact, it takes almost no effort at all. At Balenciaga, models wore their hair tucked into the collars of coats and jackets, creating the illusion of a shorter haircut with an effortlessly undone finish. The technique might seem too simple to warrant a name, but it’s known as the Olsen Tuck.

As the name suggests, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen helped popularise the look in the 2000s. Phoebe Philo later gave the tucked-away hairstyle her signature Céline treatment in the 2010s, swapping outerwear collars for neck scarves. Now, the trend has resurfaced at Balenciaga, complementing Pierpaolo Piccioli’s vision of bringing couture techniques into everyday dressing.

Ultimately, the Olsen Tuck reflects the same philosophy behind Piccioli’s collection this season: sometimes, the clothes can do all the work.

Retro Waves at Elie Saab

Long before Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow reigned as Hollywood’s original blonde bombshell, known for her platinum locks, bias-cut gowns, and signature screen-siren glamour. For Spring/Summer 2027, Elie Saab drew inspiration from Harlow’s iconic allure, with the designer describing her as the embodiment of “effortless allure and timeless glamour.” The resulting collection evoked the atmosphere of a glamorous evening out, when the night grows late and the mood becomes a little more relaxed and uninhibited.

That sense of understated sensuality came through in the lingerie-inspired layers, flowing lace dresses, and, most notably, the models’ softly styled waves. The hairstyles recalled Harlow as Anne Schuyler in Platinum Blonde, with her hair falling loosely around her shoulders, as though she had spent the evening entertaining guests and was still dressed in her silk slip. The overall effect was pure Old Hollywood romance, with a relaxed, intimate finish.

Bunned Up at Chanel

Chanel proved there’s more than one way to wear a bun, showcasing 57 variations on the classic updo. For the Spring/Summer 2027 show, lead hairstylist Duffy, who also worked on the house’s Fall/Winter 2026 and Cruise 2027 collections, gave the chignon a fresh identity inspired by Matthieu Blazy’s exploration of the many sides of Gabrielle Chanel throughout her life.

One interpretation featured a rounded, slightly textured silhouette reminiscent of a swallow’s nest, echoing the bird motifs woven throughout the collection. Another, previewed in the house’s pre-show imagery, paid homage to Chanel’s millinery heritage with a low, coiled bun secured neatly at the nape of the neck, a style rooted in early 20th-century French fashion. Other versions embraced sleek precision, with tightly wound updos polished to perfection and not a strand out of place.

Slicked-back buns may be a signature look for modern style icons like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, but Chanel’s latest collection offered a reminder that the timeless hairstyle has long been part of the house’s beauty vocabulary.
