Dolce & Gabbana has appointed Stefano Cantino as co-chief executive officer, the Italian fashion house confirmed on Monday. He joins chairman and CEO Alfonso Dolce — brother of co-founder Domenico — in leading the company through what the brand is describing as a new phase of growth.
Cantino brings considerable executive experience from across the luxury industry. Most recently he served as CEO of Gucci, a role he exited in September last year. Before that he was senior vice president of communications at Louis Vuitton, recruited by then-chairman and CEO Michael Burke, where his remit extended across communications, events and retail. The bulk of his earlier career — spanning 22 years — was spent at Prada in various business development, merchandising and marketing roles touching everything from retail to industrial processes. He holds a degree in political science from the University of Turin.
“It is an honor for me to join Dolce & Gabbana, a brand that represents Italian excellence around the world in such an extraordinary way,” Cantino said.
The appointment had been widely anticipated and comes in the wake of significant structural change at the house. It was revealed last week that co-founder Stefano Gabbana had resigned from his positions at Dolce & Gabbana Holding, Dolce & Gabbana Trademarks and Dolce & Gabbana effective January 1, 2026. The company said Gabbana retains his creative activities within the group.
