Guess who might be back on TV – Nicole Richie!  The new mom says she has inked a deal with ABC to develop and star in her own sitcom.  Last fall Nicole gave birth to a baby boy, Sparrow James Midnight Madden, the new playmate for two-year-old daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden.  In the March issue of Fashion Magazine, Nicole gushes over her babies, but makes it plain there will be no slowing down for her.

Nicole’s return to TV will be quite different from her razor-mouthed role as Paris Hilton’s sidekick in the crazy reality show The Simple Life.  Her new show “is focused on how women deal with other women, and also how they deal with their position in this world right now,” she says.  Sounds like this show could provide some insight into how Lionel Richie’s little girl has become a woman.

Writer Dennis Hensley talked with Nichole about launching a new fashion line called Winter Kate.  “Everything is very light, flowy and easy to throw on,” she says, of the line that featured vintage-inspired camisoles, kimono tops and slip dresses.  “I always dress for comfort, especially in the heat. You don’t want to feel like you’re wearing anything at all.”  She is also working on an expansion of her label House of Harlow, which will add shoes this spring.

In-between launching the new line, working on the TV show and taking care of the babies Nichole intends to find time to write.  She became a novelist in 2005 with The Truth About Diamonds, and she about to pick up the pen again. But at this time Nicole is not revealing any secret plots or intriguing characters.
